Cheerfreak Asked: What camera for a beginner photographer? Please help me!!! 10 points!!?
I have a digital camera right now but i think its time to step it up a little. I have no IDEA about ANY cameras, i'm completely new to the photography cameras thing. All I know is a SLR camera? i don't know exactly what it is but i'm guessing thats sorta what i'll get. What are the good brands etc.? any advice or opinions would be GREATLY appreciated. Also under $600 if possible. The best cheapish camera out there since i'm kinda broke and not going pro with this. Just my favorite hobby.

Canon 1000d
reasonably priced
easy to use but with potencial to grow.
can use canon lens'
or if you have more money a 450 d or 500d
Stick with Canon. Most likely, you'd do best with a Canon Rebel xi. It's the former recommended camera at photo schools, but since it's an older model, it's less expensive. Also invest in a good tripod.
DLSRs are normally better for professionals, although if you want to be able to change lenses, and you want it to have quality, then it may be good for you. But, most DLSRs are heavier, somewhat harder to manage, and can sometimes get dust in the lenses , and lenses and the camera cost a lot more than a digital camera.
It also depends on the type of camera you want. Do you want it to have a good zoom, or macro shots? Or just a basic camera?
I would say Canon and Nikon are the best, but Fujifilm is probably the best for people with less money. Most companies are neutral, with both bad, and good cameras.
Honestly, I am pretty interested in the following cameras :
Nikon Coolpix P500
Nikon Coolpix P100
Nikon Coolpix L120
Nikon D3000
Canon Powershot SX30 IS
I really like them because of the great zoom, and the price (mostly around 350-400)
There are also a few superzoom cameras that Fujifilm owns, like the S3400, S400, Hs20EXR..etc
Email me more details, like what brand, what type of camera, features, size, price..etc
I may be able to find a good camera for you.
